CGPA graces turnover of ASCOM replicated facilities in Tarlac

The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., graced the turnover and site inspection of the initial batch of 15 replicated facilities for the Army Support Command (ASCOM) at Camp Gen. Servillano S. Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City on March 7, 2022.

BCDA turned over an initial batch of 15 structures, including the commander’s quarters and student classrooms, to ASCOM. The agency eyes the completion of the remaining 29 facilities that are under construction on August 2022.

Department of National Defense (DND) Sec. Delfin N. Lorenzana; BCDA Officer-in-Charge President and CEO Atty. Aristotle B. Batuhan; AFP Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino; Northern Luzon Command Commander Lt. Gen. Ernesto C. Torres, Jr.; ASCOM Commander Maj. Gen. Glenn E. Cruz; and Installation Management Command Brig. Gen. Philip S. Lapinid also graced the said event.

“Our ceremonial turnover and site inspection of the replicated facilities of the Army Support Command truly bespeaks of our collective commitment to provide better working and living conditions for the men and women in the Philippine Army,” the CGPA said in remarks.

“Likewise, the 29.8-hectare lot provided by the DND, AFP and BCDA for the construction of 44 infrastructure and other mission-essential facilities here in Camp Aquino will effectively and substantially benefit our gallant soldiers and sustain our operational and organizational momentum,” Lt. Gen. Brawner added.

The ASCOM facilities replication project is part of the 2017 memorandum of agreement signed by BCDA and DND for the relocation of Army facilities that occupy an 11.5-hectare portion of the Bonifacio South Pointe Property in Fort Bonifacio. It will provide a better logistics, storage, and management hub for ASCOM which is tasked to provide firepower, transportation, organizational, and maintenance equipment support to the Army's major units.
