CGPA lauds first-ever PAF-PA interoperability exercise

Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the first-ever Philippine Air Force-Philippine Army (PAF-PA) Interoperability Exercise which aims to strengthen jointness and interoperability between the two Armed Forces of the Philippines major services, on March 8, 2022, at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

“This bilateral exercise will enable us to save more lives not just with the ground forces, but in general, for the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” the CGPA remarked.

Lt. Gen. Brawner called the PAF-PA Interoperability Exercise a “game-changer" as he highlighted the crucial role of battlefield air interdiction operation in the neutralization of top CPP-NPA leader Jorge “Ka Oris” Madlos in Bukidnon last year.

Lt. Gen. Brawner gave updates on the modernization and capability development thrusts of the Army Aviation Regiment. The CGPA said that the regiment, whose main role is to support ground units, is focusing on enhancing the skills and proficiency of 40 fixed-wing and helicopter pilots. He added that the regiment is beefing up its casualty air evacuation capability, which will help increase the survivability of combat-wounded troops.

The PAF-PA Interoperability Exercise is scheduled from March 7 to 11, 2022, at Camp Capinpin, the headquarters of the 2nd Infantry Division, in Tanay, Rizal, and the 80th Infantry Battalion headquarters in Barangay Pinugay, Baras, Rizal.
