CGPA, National Security Adviser Esperon dons rank on four reserve officers

Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., and National Security Adviser Sec. Hermogenes Esperon donned ranks on four reserve officers in a commissioning ceremony at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on March 9, 2022.

Lt. Col. Tecson John S. Lim (Res), Office of Civil Defense Director III; Lt. Col. Mari Elvira B. Herrera (Res), Antipolo City prosecutor; Maj. Jose Joel M. Sy-Egco (Res), Presidential Task Force on Violence Against Media Workers Undersecretary; and actor and balladeer 1LT Ronnie D. Liang (Res) received their new ranks during the commissioning ceremony.

“As the Philippine Army’s deployable force in times of national emergencies, our reservists brave the dangers of natural and human-induced calamities and confront the pervasive effects of Covid-19 pandemic. This requires our reservists to possess higher levels of dedication, passion, and responsibility of service to our people and our nation,” the CGPA remarked.

“To all of you, your uniform signifies your commitment to the organization, the Filipino people, and our country. Hence, may the ranks that you now bear on your chest inspire you to exemplify the Army’s core values of honor, patriotism, and duty,” Lt. Gen. Brawner added.
