Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., cited the crucial role of the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) Corps in the attainment of the organization’s thrusts in the Senior NCO Leadership Forum on March 10, 2022 at the Philippine Army Officers’ Clubhouse, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
The Office of the Army Sergeant Major, led by the command sergeant major Chief Master Sergeant Rogelio P. Caacbay, hosted the forum which is part of the month-long series of events to commemorate the Army’s 125 founding anniversary.
A total of 236 sergeant majors from Philippine Army Major Units, Infantry Battalions, and selected chief clerks participated in the forum via video-teleconferencing. Vice Commander, Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Henry M. Doyaoen delivered the opening remarks while United States Army Pacific Command Sergeant Major Scott A. Brzak and RT&Co. Strategic Processes, Inc. manager Ho Sun Yee shared their insights to help PA sergeant majors sharpen their leadership acumen and widen their strategic perspective.
“As non-commissioned officers of the Philippine Army, your role in the organization is indispensable. From the conduct of focused military operations to the decision-making processes of the command, you are crucial to the sustained attainment of our institutional feats,” the CGPA said in his closing remarks.
The Army Chief cited the crucial role of the NCO Corps as the Army’s organizational backbone. “You are the vital link in pursuing our shared aspiration of fostering lasting peace and sustainable development across the country. Therefore it is only fitting for us in the Army to further optimize the leadership skills and managerial competencies of our soldiers and our Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO),” the Army Chief remarked.
