Army athletes win big in racket sports events

Army athletes won big in the recently concluded badminton, soft tennis and table tennis competitions held from March 19 to 20, 2022.

Philippine Army shuttlers Cpl Joe Paul C. Henido emerged as champion in the Level B while his teammates Pvt Johan Art Rivas and Pvt Jerickson Obaob dominated Level A in the Japan Medical Training Center Invitational Badminton Cup on March 20, 2022 at the RFC Mall, Molino, Cavite.

Moreover, Cpl Mark Anthony Alcoseba dominated the 2nd Philippine Soft Tennis Association, Inc. National Open Soft Tennis Championships held from March 19 to 20, 2022 at Zoleta Tennis Center, Lucena City. He emerged as champion in the singles open category. He also bagged gold medals in the doubles open category and mix doubles category.

Not to be outdone, the Philippine Army Table Tennis Team emerged as the overall champion in the recently concluded Table Tennis Club Invitational Tournament held in San Carlos City, Pangasinan on March 20, 2022.

Special Service Center, Installation Management Command Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun commended Army athletes for excellently representing the Army in their chosen sports. He has committed to provide ample support to all soldier-athletes to further hone their skills, in line with the “SERVE” command guidance laid out by Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.
