Army celebrates Women’s Month 2022

The Philippine Army caps off the celebration of the National Women’s Month through a Recognition Ceremony at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on March 28, 2022.

During the ceremony, the Vice Commander Philippine Army (VCPA) Maj. Gen. Henry M. Doyaoen, together with the Chief of Staff Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong and the Office of the Army Gender and Development Chief Col. Lourdes O. Guevarra, presented the awards to the Top Three Winners of the Juana Video Making Contest aiming to highlight the efforts of the female soldiers during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 525th Engineer Combat Battalion of the 51st Engineer Brigade received 1st Place for their video titled “Mandirigmang Tagapagligtas sa Gitna ng Pandemya”, while the 2nd and 3rd place was awarded to the Army General Hospital and the 4th Infantry Division respectively.
Witnessed by the virtual and physical attendees of the event, the VCPA also recognized the female soldiers in the field of combat and service who received awards for their exemplary performance to duty.

“Allow me to express my heartfelt thanks to the Juanas of the Philippine Army, whose resolve and passion to serve have ultimately steered our institution’s momentum into greater heights. Indeed, as the Army’s reliable agents of transformative change, your valuable contributions have significantly paved the way towards our nation’s aspiration of lasting peace and sustainable progress across all parts of our archipelago,” said Maj. Gen. Doyaoen in his remarks.
