The Philippine Army Dragon Warriors emerged as the overall champion in the first leg of the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) Regatta after dominating three race categories held on March 27, 2022, in Manila Bay, Metro Manila.
The Philippine Army Dragon Warriors topped three 200-meter events (Men's, Women's, and Mixed Crew) in the PDBF Regatta, which returned after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
The Philippine Army Dragon Warriors has been a powerhouse team since it debuted in local dragon boat races in 2010. The team brought home gold medals during International Dragon Boat Federation-sanctioned World Dragon Boat Championships in Italy (2014) and Australia (2016).
Col. John Gabun, director of the Special Service Center, Installation Management Command, lauded the Philippine Army Dragon Warriors for excellently representing the Philippine Army in the PDBF Regatta. He vowed to hone the skills of Army athletes in support of the national sports development program.
