The 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division marked its 5th founding anniversary with the Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido as the guest of honor and speaker at the Alakdan Division headquarters in Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista, Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu on December 4, 2023.
11ID Commander Maj. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio welcomed the Army Chief, who led the inauguration of new facilities such as the Alakdan VIP Lounge and the Alakdan Club Room. The CGPA likewise awarded exemplary Alakdan Division line units and personnel during his visit.
In his keynote speech, the Army Chief lauded Alakdan troopers for being a proactive force that played a crucial role in securing peace and development in Southern Philippines and as an important partner of government agencies in mitigating the impact of natural and man-made disasters.
“Your anniversary theme for this year, ‘Alakdan@5: Laying the Foundation Towards Inclusive Peace and Stability in Lupah Sug,’ highlights your concerted efforts to work for the betterment of the people and communities you serve. Your many accomplishments against the enemies of the state are the fruits of your constant efforts to support stability in your area of responsibility,” Lt. Gen. Galido said.
