The Philippine Army joined the nation in commemorating the National Heroes' Day in a wreath-laying ceremony led by President and Commander in Chief Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on August 26, 2024.
The Security and Escort Battalion rendered arrival and departure honors for the President while Army honor guards dressed in gala rayadillo accompanied the Commander-in-Chief in the wreath-laying rite at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
"In honoring our heroes, we affirm as our own the values, virtues, and ideals they stood for,” the President said in his address. This year’s observance of the National Heroes Day banners the theme, "Kabayanihan ng Pilipino sa Panahon ng Pagbabago."
