Philippine Army tests earthquake preparedness in 3rd Quarter NSED

Philippine Army soldiers and civilian human resource tested their preparedness for the “Big One” during the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on September 26, 2024.

Soldiers and civilian human resource from HPA offices and post units executed the "Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure at their respective workstations at the blast of the siren which signaled the start of the drill. Participants then converged at the HPA Flagpole Area for accounting of personnel.

The Philippine Army’s participation in the quarterly nationwide earthquake drill is part of the organization’s thrust to promote earthquake preparedness and disaster resilience among soldiers and civilian human resource.

The Army leadership meanwhile assured the operational readiness of the Army’s HADR units to respond to any calamity that may affect the country.
