FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army together with the barangay officials and civilian volunteers from Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal worked hand in hand in the repacking of the relief goods donated by Landers Superstore at the Barangay Hall of Brgy San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal.
In line with the series of donations made by Landers Superstore in coordination with the Philippine Army and 2Lt. Matteo Guidicelli (Reserve) PA, the first set of donations received last March 27 were repacked for distribution by the Community Support Program Team of the Bravo Company, 2nd Civil-Military Operations Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division (2ID); 405th Army Ready Reserve Battalion personnel; 23rd Division Reconnaissance Company personnel from 2ID; barangay officials of Barangay San Jose headed by their chairman Glenn Evangelista; and civilian volunteers from Kasiglahan Village, Brgy. San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal.
Throughout the repacking process, the personnel and volunteers observed the proper social distancing procedure and wore appropriate face masks to ensure the health and safety of all the personnel involved and also maintain the cleanliness of the relief goods.
Through the online fundraising concert “One Voice Pilipinas”, 2Lt. Guidicelli and Landers Superstore raised an amount of Php 4.8 Million worth of donations for the benefit of the affected families in Metro Manila during the enhanced community quarantine period. The first of the three (3) sets of donations have been repacked yesterday and is set to be distributed to the recipients of Brgy San Jose today, March 28.
"The Philippine Army appreciates the generosity provided by the barangay officials and civilian volunteers of Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal in assisting our troops in the repacking of relief goods donated by Landers Superstore” Philippine Army Spokesperson Col. Ramon Zagala said.
“The jointness of efforts among the local government units, Philippine Army and civilian volunteers only proves that the “bayanihan spirit” to alleviate the lives of our fellow Filipinos is indeed working in this time of crisis,” Zagala added. #
