ADB, Philippine Army relief efforts to Metro Manila communities continues

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army has delivered the 3rd set of 250 million worth of relief packs donated by the Asian Development Bank to 4,100 families of Barangay Dampalit, Malabon City today, April 8, 2020.

Since early April, the Army in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and other Local Government Units have distributed a total of 7,870 Family Food Packs (FFPs) to the beneficiaries in Malabon and Taguig City.

FFPs will provide families with basic food necessities during the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine. The FFP contains 10 kilograms of rice, around 30 to 50 pieces of assorted canned goods and 20 sachets of milk and coffee.

The Philippine Army utilizes its military trucks to deliver said relief goods to the communities. As of posting, continuous repacking operations are being conducted at Army Grandstand through the combined efforts of Army Civil Military Operations Regiment, Army Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Army Reservists and other civilian groups.

“The Philippine Army is grateful for everyone who are working tirelessly as this project intends to reach around 140,000 households in the indigent communities of Metro Manila. We are also encouraging you to join us in this bayanihan endeavor to help our kababayans in need especially in this time of crisis,” said Army Spokesperson Col. Ramon P. Zagala.#
