Batasan Hills residents received Easter Sunday gift from ADB

Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila - A total of 3,766 households of Sitio Taniman, Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City received an Easter Sunday gift through a family food pack (FFP) from Asian Development Bank (ADB) which was delivered by the Philippine Army today, April 12.

The Civil Military Operations Regiment of the Philippine Army, Department of Social Welfare and Development representatives, local officials and civilian volunteers of Barangay Batasan Hills distributed the said relief goods to the households of seven “puroks” of Sitio Taniman, Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City. A total of 13 military trucks and four civilian vehicles were utilized for the hauling of the said goods.

Each FFP consists of 10 kilograms of rice, 35 assorted canned goods and 20 sachets of milk and coffee.

Since April 4, a total of 15, 716 FFPs were already distributed to the beneficiaries of selected Barangays of Malabon, Taguig and Quezon City. The recent FFP distribution is part of the 250 million worth of food packs donation made by the ADB. The ADB intends to provide assistance through FFP to 140,000 families within Metro Manila, who were affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine, in line with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, the Philippine Army continuously conducts repacking of the remaining food packs stocked at the Army Grandstand, Ft Bonifacio, Taguig City. Last April 9, Angel Locsin and company visited the Army Headquarters and volunteered to help in the repacking of ADB goods.

“The ADB foods packs shall be distributed to the communities identified by the DSWD. Thus, we will maximize our resources to deliver these goods to the most needed beneficiaries in Metro Manila.” Lieutenant General Gilbert Gapay, Commanding General, Philippine Army said.

“Rest assured that your Philippine Army in coordination with DSWD and other stakeholders shall continue serving our kababayans in this time of crisis,” added Gapay. #
