Army deploys new troops in Quarantine Assistance Stations

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army deployed a new set of troops that will man the Quarantine Assistance Stations (QAS) in the border of Metro Manila today, April 14.

Soldiers from the 92nd Infantry Battalion will take over the QAS after the troops from the Army Security Escort Battalion (SEBn) manned the Luzon checkpoints for 30 days.

A total of 150 Army personnel were deployed in QAS, Metro Manila at Mc Arthur Highway, Barangay Malanday, Valenzuela City; Camachile, Caloocan; Smart Connect Interchange, Mindanao Avenue, Valenzuela City.

SEBn troops, upon return to Ft Bonifacio underwent decontamination procedure at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani. After which, they will proceed to designated quarantine stations inside Army Headquarters and Army Wellness Center for their 14-day quarantine.

“The Philippine Army will continue its mission in the protection of our communities against the threat of Covid-19 by deploying more troops to ensure safety and security during the ECQ,” Army Spokesperson Col Ramon Zagala said.

“We assure our soldiers that we will provide them with appropriate health assistance as they undergo their quarantine period,” Zagala added.
