FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army, as directed by higher headquarters, continues to extend its support to Local Government Units (LGUs) and Philippine National Police (PNP) during the extended enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country.
The deployment of additional forces in selected areas of Taguig, Makati and Pateros with high COVID 19 cases to augment the PNP’s role in strictly implementing the social distancing and ECQ. The Army will conduct information dissemination through loudspeaker operations and community visitations together with the PNP. The Army’s support to law enforcement operations will last for ten days until the end of the enhanced community quarantine on April 30, 2020.
“The Philippine Army's mission is to support law enforcement by reminding citizens to observe social distancing and advising them to stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus.” said the Philippine Army Spokesperson, Col. Ramon Zagala. #
