CGPA checks on troops, fire incident site

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – In light with the recent fire incident, the Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) went to check on troops and the Finance Center Philippine Army (FCPA)’s conditions here today, April 28, 2020.

Fire broke out at the FCPA building last night due to a faulty electrical wiring, resulting to a short circuit in a conjunction box at the Governance and Strategy Management Office located inside FCPA. Damages costs 1.2 Million pesos while there is no casualty reported.

FCPA also expressed its gratitude to the different teams of fire stations who responded in the incident thus saving the lives of other Army personnel and protecting most of the essential equipment of the center’s financial operations. The financial center also assured that the Pay and Allowances, Subsistence Allowance, Midyear bonus and COVID Hazard Pay and other financial claims will not be affected and hampered and will be processed as well as paid on time.

“It is saddening to receive such news last night. Aside from the physical damages, it puts a toll on our personnel, particularly the workforce of FCPA. However, the Philippine Army will remain resilient despite the challenges it faces today. We will not let the recent incidents waver us from serving the people amid this crisis,” said Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay.
