FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Commanding General, Philippine Army commends the troops of the 41st Infantry “Partner for Peace” Battalion and the 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion for its operation against terrorists on April 28 and 23, respectively.
On Tuesday, April 28, operating troops of 41IB of the 11th Infantry Division clashed against more or less 20 Abu Sayyaf Group entities at Barangay Tumatangis, Indanan, Sulu. Encounter lasted for around 9 minutes resulting to enemy withdrawal and neutralization of one ASG member. Continued pursuit operations led to the collection of enemy items including one M16, one M203, five long Magazine for M16, 98 pieces ammunition for 5.56mm, two ammunition for .40mm, one bandoleer, two back packs, four cellphones, improvised Solar panel, food items, personal belongings and shabu paraphernalia.
On the other hand, 91IB troops of the 7th Infantry Division on Thursday, April 23, recovered high-powered firearms at Barangay Diaat, Maria Aurora, Aurora after conducting pursuit operation against the CPP-NPA terrorists (CNT) who withdrew from the said area. Troops seized one M16A1 Rifle, two M16, two M653, seven short Magazine for for M16, 11 long Magazines for M16, one Bandoleer and 234 pieces of ammunitions.
“To 41IB and 91IB operating troops, I commend you for a job well done. Remain vigilant against our enemies and continue to perform your duties well while protecting the people,” said Lt. General Gilbert I. Gapay.
