Agila troopers recover arms cache in Davao Oriental

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Acting on an information provided by a recent NPA surrenderer, security elements from the Army’s 10th Infantry “Agila” Division recovered an arms cache of ten firearms at Barangay Aliwagwag, Cateel, Davao Oriental on May 3, 2020.

The troops recovered five M16 rifles, two AK74 rifles, an M4 rifle with M203 Grenade Launcher, an M14 rifle, and an M653 rifle. The recovered firearms were subsequently brought to 67th Infantry Battalion Headquarters at Brgy. Salingcomot, Baganga, Davao Oriental.

“I commend the members of the Agila Division for this accomplishment. This feat will surely cripple these terrorists’ ability to disrupt the peace our communities deserve. Keep up the good work even as we encourage more of our brothers and sisters to rejoin mainstream society and live fulfilling lives with their families,” said the Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay. #
