FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) attends the King of Battle Army Artillery Regiment's (AAR) 13th Founding Anniversary celebration at Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija today, June 17, 2020.
In his speech, Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay commended the regiment for their aggressive COVID-19 response efforts, supportive civil-military operations to the tactical brigades, and continuous stakeholder engagement.
The AAR is an Institutionalized Philippine Army Major Unit at the forefront of the Army modernization in line with its Land Maneuver Concept to address external, internal, and hybrid threats. Programmed to receive new equipment, the AAR recently created its additional Batteries on Multiple Launch Rocket System, Land Based Missile System, Air Defense Artillery, and Field Artillery. They are consistent in performing its mandate in organizing, training, equipping, developing, and sustaining Artillery units in providing timely and accurate fire support to maneuver units.
Prior to the celebration, CGPA visited the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army where he acknowlegded the troops' accomplishments and encouraged them to excel in their future endeavors.
"As former CGPA and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Gen. Eduardo Año once said, 'Filipinos are considered as one of the best fighters in the world because we have the values and resolve,' kahit parating pa lang ang mga kagamitan, parang sinasabi ni General Año na tayo ay panalo na sa laban. At yan ay makikita natin sa mga cañoneros," said Gapay.
"Sa mga sundalo at kawani ng AAR, panatilihin natin ang kagalingan at propersyonalismo sa pagganap ng tungkulin. Pagtibayin pa ninyo ang mga inisyatiba tungo sa pagiging isang modernong artilyero. Ang Headquarters of the Philippine Army ay laging nakasuporta sa mga adhikaing ito," he added. #
