FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army's Installation Management Command (IMCOM) welcomes its new commander in a Change of Command and Ceremony here today, July 23, 2020.
Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Reynaldo M. Aquino presided the turn-over of leadership from outgoing Commander Maj. Gen. Tyne T. Bañas to incoming Brig. Gen. Ramil M. Bitong. IMCOM is the unit responsible for the organization and management of the installations, assets, and properties of the Army.
Bitong, a member of Philippine Military Academy “Makatao” Class of 1989, served as the Assistant Division Commander of 8th Infantry Division prior to his assumption. He also served as the Commander of 803rd Brigade, 8th Infantry “Storm Trooper” Division and Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, G1, PA. Bitong is also a graduate of the National Defense University at Washington, D.C., USA with a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies.
Meanwhile, Bañas has led the IMCOM since its activation on September 2019. The unit acquired additional mobility assets, improved installations at the Headquarters Philippine Army (HPA), enhanced the command’s organizational structure, initiated the perfecting of military reservations, and received the “Initiated Status” in the Army Governance Pathway under his leadership. He also served as Commander of the 1002nd Brigade, 10th Infantry “Agila” Division; and Chief of the Army Governance and Strategy Management Office. Bañas graduated from PMA as a part of the “Hinirang” Class of 1987.
“With an efficient and effective installation management, we do our job right and do the right job. In any undertaking, we fight and win our wars,” said Aquino in his remarks. “Sa mga kawal at kawani ng IMCOM, suportahan ninyo ang inyong bagong Commander. Sa inyong pagtutulungan, mas magiging maayos ang ating mga pasilidad at iba pang ari-arian,” he added.
