FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Office of the Commanding General, Philippine Army (OCG,PA) is awarded the Army Governance Pathway (AGP) Proficient Status here today, August 4, 2020.
Outgoing Army Commanding General and now Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay received the award and led the pinning of the Proficient Status medallion on OCG’s plaque for establishing the functionality of its strategy execution mechanism.
“We are here today to recognize the service and dedication of the Office of the Commanding General, whose role in the Philippine Army’s genuine transformation is vital,” said Gapay who also expressed gratitude to the office, more so, to Team Army as a whole for their commitment in the service and attainment of the command thrusts.
“Given the wisdom, the [Army Governance] Pathway continues to promote the core values, mission, and vision of the Army as it pioneered the initiatives of change and good governance,” added Gapay. The AGP follows four stages namely Initiated, Compliant, Proficient and Institutionalized status which is aimed to drive results, reward performance, and institutionalize the Army Transformation Roadmap in the organization.
“May this moment strengthen more opportunities and initiatives in sustaining our education and training goals for a better, effective and genuine transformation. The path to change and progress entails a long process. In the Army, we beat those odds. And we strive for excellence,” concluded Gapay in his remarks.#
