FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army welcomed the visit of Armed Forces of the Philippines Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (AFPETDC) Commander here on August 10, 2020.
After paying a courtesy call to Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana, AFPETDC Commander Maj. Gen. Edgard A. Arevalo graced the opening of the Command and General Staff Course Class (CGSC) 68-2020 held at the Army Officer’s Club House. The CGSC, which is offered by the AFPETDC, is the highest military education that can be taken by AFP officers. It creates qualified graduates who will occupy key command and staff positions in the operational and strategic levels of the organization. It is also taken by other qualified AFP reserve officers and international military students.
“Philippine Army officers who are about to take on demanding roles and responsibilities in their military careers undergo the CGSC to continuously hone and develop their leadership aptitude and become the best of leaders in organization. With this opportunity, Army officers are enabled to better understand and respond to the evolving mission requirements, for both equipment and competencies among our soldiers, and complete whatever task is at hand. That is the purpose of our capability build-up; on finding, fixing, and finishing the threat as well as sustaining our gains. And this is what this training is about,” said Sobejana. #
