FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry “Agila” Division (10ID) celebrated its 14th Founding Anniversary today, August 17, 2020 at Camp General Manuel T Yan Sr., Mawab, Davao de Oro with the Army Commanding General as guest of honor and speaker.
Lt. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana congratulated the Division for its successes in pursuing peace in Southeastern Mindanao.
For the past year, the 10ID under the command of Maj. Gen. Reuben S. Basiao, led the neutralization of 365 Communist Terrorist Group members, recovery of 497 firearms, dismantling of five guerilla fronts, and clearing of 58 affected barangays while continuously conducting a series of Community Support Programs and converging stakeholders and communities in the Division’s area of responsibility.
Sobejana also recognized and thanked the soldiers and the civilian human resource for their commitment in the duty as well the various stakeholders for supporting the peace and development endeavors of 10ID.
“People are central to fostering genuine peace and development. We are an Army for the people, and we see the value of their involvement,” addressed Sobejana. “The Agila Division has been a dependable force for the stability and progress of Southeastern Mindanao, uniting communities to defeat the ills of poverty and terrorism. Your resolve to attain prosperity for the region and to win the people truly inspires the Army,” he added.
