FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Commanding General of Philippine Army (CGPA) was recognized by the local government Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental for bringing honor to his hometown on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.
Lt. General Cirilito Sobejana was presented the highest commendation for bringing honor and prestige through his exemplary achievement and service to the nation in the field of soldiery by Zamboanguita Municipal Mayor Glenson Alanano.
His hometown acknowledged his achievements as he commanded different units of the Army most notably the 1st Scout Ranger Company and the 3rd Scout Ranger Battalion where both units were adjudged as Best Company and Best Battalion, respectively during his stint. He also previously served as commander of Western Mindanao Command, 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division, Joint Task Force Sulu, and Civil-Military Operations Regiment. The municipality also recognized Sobejana’s Medal for Valor Award for his act of gallantry in 1995.
Sobejana expressed his gratitude to his fellow Zamboanguitanon for the recognition during his homecoming.
“Being a Commanding General of the Philippine Army is a challenge, but with your prayers and faith, I can make it. It is a journey which looks back to learn, looks around for companions, looks down for humility and respect to others, and looks up for the guidance of the divine providence,” he said. #
