FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) rendered his first official visit to the 8th Infantry “Storm Troopers” Division (8ID) today, October 16, 2020 at Camp Vicente Lucban, Catbalogan, Samar.
Lt. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana commended the division headed by Maj. Gen. Pio Q. Diñoso for their accomplishments from the start of the year until present, including the unit’s dismantling of three guerilla fronts, clearing of 61 barangays, neutralization of 55 enemy personalities, and seizure of 89 firearms and 19 anti-personnel mines.
The CGPA also led the conferral of the Army Governance Pathway Institutionalized Status to 8ID and awarding of Battle Streamers to 801st Infantry Brigade, 802nd Infantry Brigade, 46th Infantry Battalion, 78th Infantry Battalion, and 93rd Infantry Battalion for their operational accomplishments.
“To our Storm Troopers, let us continue in sustaining our efforts against COVID-19 and our nation’s enemies, and maintain our healthy lifestyle to shield our body from the virus. Remember to develop your well-being and right sense of purpose, which is to triumph wars and win the peace,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana in his Talk to Troops. #
