FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army (PA) and the US Army Pacific (USARPAC) will co-host a virtual senior army leaders forum on November 17-18, 2020 at the Philippine Army Officer Club House, Fort Andres Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Dubbed as the 44th Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS) and the 6th Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF) 2020, the event will gather army senior leaders across the Indo-Pacific region. The conference aims to establish cooperation and mutual friendship among the regional armies while promoting peace and strengthening confidence amid the prevailing crises due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anchored on the theme “Addressing Challenges to Indo-Pacific Armies in Urban Environments”, around 29 countries will participate and exchange views on the current issues that affect the region.
IPAMS serves as a distinguished senior army engagement in the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean Region. It was first held in Honolulu, Hawaii with nine participating countries back in 1977. In 2014, SELF was added to provide senior leaders and warrant officers the opportunity for open dialogue, boost relationships, and provide an avenue for understanding each armies’ capabilities and contributions of its Non-Commissioned Officers.#
