FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSB) signed via teleconference the Memorandum of Understanding to address poverty, malnutrition and food security in our country here today, November 28, 2020.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana and PBSB Chairman Mr. Manuel Pangilinan finalized their partnership in addressing poverty, malnutrition, and food security to achieve peace and progress in the country. The Philippine Army will stand alongside PBSB in accomplishing “The Hunger Project” that aims to achieve a sustainable solution to hunger by mainly providing manpower and logistics support.
PBSP Chairman Mr. Pangilinan expressed his gratitude with the Philippine Army for its support in solving social issues, “I would like first to thank the Philippine Army, Lt. Gen. Sobejana particularly for this kind of invitation to be with you this afternoon and for the opportunity to be partnered with the Philippine Army in respect with the hunger project, the specific thrust of the MOU would be the hunger issue that has been around for quite sometimes in our country and exacerbated by the onset of the Pandemic,"
“Our signing of the Memorandum of Understanding seals our commitment to see the project through, which I hope also lays the groundwork for more future collaborations,” Lt. Gen. Sobejana said in his remarks “I would like to emphasize to the PBSP and the rest of our partners and stakeholders that in your journey with the Army, we are neither above nor below you, but always beside you,” he added.#
