FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army installed its new Armor "Pambato" Division commander in a Change of Command Ceremony today, December 2, 2020 at Camp O'Donnel, Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana presided the turn-over of leadership from Maj. Gen. Robert C. Dauz to Brig. Gen. Efren P. Baluyot.
Brig. Gen. Baluyot served as the Armor Division's Assistant Commander prior to his assumption. He also occupied leadership posts in various Armor units around the country such as 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade and 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion. He graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) as a member of "Makatao" Class of 1989, and holds a Master in Public Management Major in Development Security from Development Academy of the Philippines.
On the other hand, Maj. Gen. Dauz's oversaw the Division’s recertification of its Army Governance Pathway Institutionalized Status among other operational accomplishments. A total of 195 training programs to continue building on the division's force were carried out under his leadership. The Division was also instrumental in the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations during the pandemic and the devastation caused by the recent typhoons. A member of PMA "Maringal" Class of 1988, Maj. Gen. Dauz recently took on higher responsibilities as Vice Commander of the Philippine Army.
"'Mounted Warriors', continue your headway to conquer our adversaries so that we may finally attain peace and progress for the country we heartily serve. Tandaaan rin ninyo na ang inyong tagumpay ay hindi lang tagumpay ng Hukbong Katihan kundi tagumpay rin ng bawat Pilipino," said Lt. Gen. Sobejana in his remarks during the ceremony. #
