Army personnel donates one-day subsistence allowance to typhoon-hit families

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Personnel of the Phillippine Army donated a portion of their individual subsistence allowance to the families affected by the devastation caused by the recent typhoons today, December 17, 2020.
The Commanding General of the Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana led the turn-over of the donation to Department of National Defense Undersecretary Ricardo B. Jalad at the National Disater Risk Reduction and Management Council Main Hall in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The subsistence allowance donation, amounting to almost 14 Million Pesos, will be allocated to the provinces affected such as Catanduanes and Cagayan Valley.
"We thank Lt. Gen. Sobejana and our friends from the Philippine Army for this generous gesture of solidarity to our cause to rebuild the disaster affected communities and the building of a safer, climate change adaptive and disaster resilient philippines, amidst the challenges of the new normal," said Usec. Jalad.
"Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa mga kasundaluhan ng Hukbong Katihan ng Pilipinas sa inyong patuloy na pagmamalasakit sa ating mga kababayan. Sana ay hindi kayo magsawang tumulong sa mga nangangailangan, sapagkat ito ay parte ng ating sinumpaang tungkulin," said Lt. Gen. Sobejana in his remarks.
"Lagi ninyong tandaan na kahit na sa maliit natulong na ating iniabot ay may napakalaking kontribusyon para sa pag-ahon muli ng mga kababayan nating naapektuhan ng kalamidad," he added. #
