FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army Multi-Sector Advisory Board (PA MSAB) received its new member here today, December 28, 2020.
Via video conference, Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Cirilitio E. Sobejana led the oath-taking of Atty. Peñafrancia C. Carpio-Devesa, the Assistant Solicitor General.
The board was established to promote the continuity and sustainability of the Army Transformation Roadmap and to encourage shared responsibility in its success with its members coming from government, non-government, media, business, defense and youth sectors.
The Army created the PA MSAB’s Legal and Diplomatic Relations Committee to safeguard basic human rights; identify potential local and international partners; and support the efforts of building a just society. The committee is an addition to PA MSAB’s other committees namely: Governance; Resource Management; Review and Assessment; Strategic Communication; and Research and Education.
“The Philippine Army’s pursuit of peace and progress for the nation relies on its transformation founded on the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana. “With your support, we will accomplish our thrusts to capacitate Army forces, uplift the morale and welfare of the personnel; intensify stakeholder engagement; and most especially, sustain good governance,” he added.#
