FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila — The Philippine Army installs its new Army Chief Surgeon here today, January 13, 2021.
In a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony presided by the Commanding General Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, the outgoing Army Chief Surgeon Col. Mamerto Losa relinquished his post to Col. Joel Enrico Anastacio.
Prior to his assumption, Col. Anastacio served as the Commanding Officer of the Army General Hospital and at the same time the Director for Medical Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Health Service Command. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology in University of Santo Tomas and a Doctor of Medicine at PMC.
On the other hand, Col. Losa’s leadership enabled the office to provide responsive medical care to Army personnel through numerous blood donation activities amid the dengue outbreak, house-to-house polio vaccination and the conduct of the first PA Medical Service Day last September 2019. Under his watch, he also facilitated the construction, licensing, and operationalization of the PA Molecular Laboratory which caters to personnel and their dependents.
“The Philippine Army puts a premium on quality and accessible healthcare services, which are imperatives in maintaining the Army’s excellent repute and operational effectiveness. In essence, the Office of the Army Chief Surgeon has strived for excellence to ensure that the Philippine Army makes advances in attaining its mission.” Said Lt. Gen. Sobejana in his remarks.#
