FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Troops from the First Special Forces Battalion under the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) neutralized New People’s Army (NPA) terrorists and seized high-powered firearms on February 02, 2021 at Bgy. Gayakay, Tagaloan II, Lanao del Sur.
The operating troops conducted direct action operation against more or less 30 enemy personalities belonging to the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee. A total of one and a half hour firefight ensued.
The said encounter led to the death of five CTG terrorists and the seizure of one M14, three M16, and two Garand Rifles. Pursuit operations are going to find, fix, and finish the remnants of the terrorist groups.#
