FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army 3rd Infantry “Spearhead” Division celebrated its 47th Founding Anniversary on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Camp General Macario Peralta Jr in Jamindan, Capiz.
During the event, Acting Commanding General Lt. Gen. Jose C. Faustino Jr. who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker lauded the Division’s gains in sustaining the peace and security in the Central and Western Visayas.
In the previous year, 631 enemy personalities were neutralized and 559 rebels surrendered; and 40 high-powered and 159 low-powered firearms were seized. More so, the Division has been active in conducting community support programs together with government agencies and civic groups.
The Spearhead Division’s area of responsibility covers the islands of Panay, Negros, Guimaras, and Siquijor; altogether securing a land area of 25,985 square kilometers with more than 8 million people in it.
“This Division has continuously proven its resiliency to thrive amidst challenges brought upon by insurgency, lawlessness, natural calamities, and even in the face of a pandemic,” said Lt. Gen. Faustino. “As you mark 47 years of excellent service to the Filipino people and our beloved country, look back, take pride, and be more inspired by your many accomplishments —because the Philippine Army is truly proud of all you,” he added.#
