Army Commanding General visits 8th Infantry Division

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Acting Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Jose C. Faustino Jr. visited the 8th Infantry “Storm Trooper” Division on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Camp Vicente Lukban, Catbalogan, Samar.
During his Talk to the Troops, Lt. Gen. Faustino thanked and commended 8ID for its commitment in sustaining the peace and security of the communities in the Eastern Visayas Region.
Since January 2020, 8ID’s operation led to the dismantling of four guerilla fronts, neutralization of 18 members of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG) and the surrender of 1,236 other CTG members. Troops also seized 163 high and low-powered firearms and 165 Improvised Explosive Devices and discovered 74 enemy lairs during operations. On the other hand, civil-military operations were also intensified through radio programs, Forum for Punong Barangays in Focus Areas, and Youth Leadership Summit.
At the end of his speech, Lt. Gen. Faustino reiterated to the troops to always uphold the Army’s core values of honor, patriotism, and duty and to always remember to instill the desire to serve and devotion to duty as public servants.#
