Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training has new Chief

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – A new chief for the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training (OG8), Philippine Army (PA) assumed post here today, May 12, 2021.
In a Change of Chief Ceremony, Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Rowen Tolentino presided the turnover of leadership from outgoing G8 Col. Edgar Delos Reyes to incoming G8 Col. Arsenio Sadural.
Col. Sadural is an alumni of Philippine Military Academy “Maalab” Class of 1993. Prior to his designation, he was the Command Inspector General of East Mindanao Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines. He also served as the Commander of Security Task Action Group I of the Presidential Security Group; Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence in 4th and 7th Infantry Division; Commanding Officer of the 30th Infantry Battalion; and EastMinCom’s Chief for Government Strategy and Management Office. Col. Sadural also holds a Master’s Degree in National Security Administration from the National Defense College Philippines and Master’s Degree in Management Major in Public Administration from Philippine Christian University. He also took his Command and General Staff Course in 2012.
On the other hand, Col. Delos Reyes is also a member of the PMA “Maalab” Class of 1993. During his stint, he facilitated educational initiatives such as the Combat Leadership Enhancement Program (CLEP), 22K Scholarship Program, and Masters in National Security Administration. Under his leadership, OG8 also enhanced the capabilities of units through the conduct Battalion Retraining Programs, Organizational Trainings, Brigade Combined Arms Trainings, Sustained Warfighting Enhancement and Evaluation Program (SWEEP), and PA Marksmanship Training Programs. The office also continued to improve operational readiness through joint, combined arms, and foreign trainings and exercises such as the AFP Joint Exercise (AJEX) “Dagat, Langit, at Lupa” (DAGIT-PA), and International Defense and Security Engagements (IDSE), particularly with United States, Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Col. Delos Reyes is set to serve as the Deputy Commander of the 701st Infantry Brigade.
OG8 is the Army’s key office that ensures and provides the most relevant and best training for personnel. It prepares troops in participating in combined arms or inter-agency exercises and operations to further enhance combat readiness and interoperability.
