FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Troops of the 47th Infantry “Katapatan” Battalion neutralized Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG) members and seized high-powered firearms in Bilar, Bohol yesterday, May 25.
Katapatan troopers were conducting combat operation when they clashed with 11 CTGs at Barangay Cabacnitan. Firefight led to the death of three CTGs and confiscation of one M16 rifle, four Cal .45 pistol, one bandolier, two M16 with 30 rounds of ammunition, three phones, one grenade, one radio and documents with high intelligence value.
After around 10 minutes, other 47IB troops conducting blocking operations engaged with an undetermined number of CTGs in the same barangay. Another two CTGs were killed and additional firearms and items including one M16 rifle, one Cal .45, one laptop, three phones and documents with high intelligence value seized.
