Philippine Army Support Command celebrates its 50th Founding Anniversary

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army Support Command (ASCOM) celebrated its 50th Founding Anniversary today, May 27, 2021 at ASCOM Headquarters.

“For the past five decades, ASCOM has bore the weight of providing proactive, integrated, and sustained logistical support so that the Philippine Army can wage and win wars,” said Army Commanding General Maj. Gen. Andres C. Centino who served as the event’s Guest of Honor and Speaker

ASCOM, which was initially activated as the Supply and Transportation Company in 1962, is currently commanded by Maj. Gen. Glenn E. Cruz. ASCOM is responsible for the delivery of various supplies as well as providing support to the administrative and operational requirements of Army units. ASCOM's capabilities in resource management in logistics and sustainment from basic supplies to complex military equipment is central to the success of the Army’s mission.

“Now that you embark on a new year of service, the Army will continue to rely on you to fulfill your mandate,” said the CGPA. “Steadfast, focused, and decisive, I see ASCOM’s determination to remain being a highly-reliable logistical force, supplying firepower, transportation, and organizational and maintenance equipment – where it counts, when it counts,” he added.#
