Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army Commanding General visited the 51st Engineer Brigade (51EBde) today, June 11, 2021 at Camp General Rigoberto Atienza, Libis, Quezon City.
Maj. Gen. Andres Centino reiterated to the 51EBde troops the command’s thrusts on the optimized use of financial resources; advancement of professionalization and meritocracy; and capability and base development.
“As the Army’s developmental arm in Luzon, your role is essential in cultivating stability and nurturing progress in our country,” he said.
51EBde is responsible for providing engineer support, humanitarian assistance and disaster response as well as socio-economic development programs to Philippine Army units and the government’s flagship projects.
Among the notable projects of 51EBde are the construction of Fisherman’s Shelter at Mavulis, Batanes; steel suspension footbridge in Camarines Sur; Emergency Quarantine Facilities in Marikiina City and the rehabilitation of farm to market road in Alabat Quezon. The Brigade also performed various rescue and evacuation mission during the Taal Volcano eruption in 2020 and previous calamities in Luzon.
“To the men and women of the 51st Engineer Brigade, I commend you for being a force the Army and our people can rely upon to win the peace and help build a stronger the nation,” noted Maj. Gen. Centino.#
