Philippine Army gives assistance to C-130 crash victims

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army extends support to the victims of the C-130 plane crash last July 4, 2021, in Jolo, Sulu.

The Philippine Army through units deployed has already informed the relatives of those killed and injured.

A total of 49 perished in the tragedy of which 37 are Army soldiers. The AFP is now in the process of identifying all of those killed through physical identification and dental records. So far sixteen soldiers have been positively identified while the rest of the remains are still being examined. Once identified, the bodies will be brought to their respective hometowns to their final resting place. The fallen troops’ bereaved families will be accorded with psycho-social support, financial assistance and pension to support them in this time of sorrow.

The remaining 47 injured Army troops are currently being treated in Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital in Sulu and other hospitals in Zamboanga City.
