FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - Operating troops of 91st Division Reconnaissance Company under the 9th Infantry Division clashed against CPP-NPA-Terrorists at Cataingan, Masbate on July 13, 2021.
While conducting focused military operation, 9ID troops encountered undetermined number of CNTs in the vicinity of Bgy. Cudalawan,Cataingan. The firefight lasted for 10 minutes that resulted to the seizure of one M16 Rifle and one anti-personnel mine.
The Philippine Army strongly condemns the continuous use of anti-personnel mines despite the prohibition of its use due to the grave danger that can affect civilians. On June 6, 2021, Keith Absalon was one of the civilians who died in an APM explosion triggered by the CNTs.#
