FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila –The Philippine Army installed a new chief of Office of the Army Adjutant (OAA) here today, July 21, 2021.
Chief of Staff, Philippine Army, Maj. Gen. Rowen Tolentino presided the turnover of the office symbol from the outgoing OAA chief Col. Marvin Licudine to incoming OAA chief Col. Bernardo Fortez.
Col. Fortez was the chief of 9th Infantry Division’s Army Governance and Strategy Management Office prior to said post. He graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in 1991 and holds a Master’s degree in Public Management and a Masters in National Security Administration. He also held key positions in 9ID as its chief for the Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training; Assistant chief of Staff for Personnel, Assistant chief of Staff for Operations, and as the commander of 83rd Infantry Battalion. He completed his Command and General Staff Course last 2011 at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Command and General Staff College.
Meanwhile, Col. Licudine who served in the OAA for almost two years has assumed as the Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Peace and Development Office last July 18. During his stint in OAA, Col. Licudine initiated the Adjutant General Service Enhancement Program: Five Year Plan to enhance the Adjutant’s services to Army personnel and their dependents. Moreover, he also conducted the 1st Army Adjutant Summit as well as the Adjutant General Service’s Consultative Conferences to enhance services PA-wide amid the ongoing pandemic. Col. Licudine is a member of the PMA “Makatao” Class of 1989 and holds a Master in Business Administration and Masters in Management.
