Philippine Army aviators and aeromedical team learn lessons from U.S. Army counterparts

Philippine Army aviators and the Aeromedical Evacuation Crew of the Army General Hospital participated in lectures and practical exercises conducted by 2-6 Cavalry Squadron, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade of the U.S. Army which are part of the ongoing Exercise Salaknib at the TIKAS Hangar, Aviation Regiment, Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija on March 14 to March 17, 2023.
 
Staff Sergeant Logan Davis and Sergeant First Class Beau Pratt gave lectures and practical exercises on the Differentiation of Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC) and Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC), Differentiation of Tactical Field Care and Tactical Evacuation Care (TACEVAC), Proper moving and lifting, Safety protocols during TACEVAC, nine (9) Line MEDEVAC Reporting, and nine (9) Rules of the Thumb in MEDEVAC.
 
This training prepares Army Aviators and Aeromedical Evacuation Team in performing medical evacuation during the conduct of military ground operations, Humanitarian Assistance Disaster and Relief (HADR) operations and support to other government agencies' efforts in saving lives during calamities.
 
The annual Salaknib, now on its eighth iteration, is an Army-to-Army theater security cooperation exercise between the PA and USARPAC. It aims to enhance Philippine and U.S. defense readiness while strengthening bilateral relationships.
