15RCDG activates 1505th RRIBn and Installs New Unit Commander

 
Dinagat Islands – The Reserve Command, Philippine Army activated its 1505th (Dinagat) Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) per General Orders Number 448 of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army dated March 16, 2022 at the Operation Center Building, Sta Cruz, San Jose, Dinagat Islands on July 11, 2022, with Major General Fernando V Felipe, the RCPA commander as the guest of honor and speaker.
 
The 1505th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion are the former Alpha and Bravo Company which are under the 1503rd RRIBn and based in Brgy. Wilson, San Jose, Dinagat Islands. They serves the whole province of Dinagat Islands. It is under the supervision of 1503rd (Surigao del Norte) Community Defense Center (CDC), 15th Regional Community Defense Group (15RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army. Colonel Diosdado E. Peji, the 15RCDG group commander, closely supervised and persistently advocated the Reserve Force Development Program throughout the entire Dinagat Islands which led to the activation.
 
Following the activation ceremony is the installation of its first unit commander, which was presided over by MGen Felipe. Major Nilo A Demerey PA (Reserve) assumed as Battalion Commander of 1505th RRIBn. He is the governor-elect of the province of Dinagat Islands.
 
To strengthen the security, peace, and order of Dinagat island, Governor Demerey allocated a parcel of land with a total area of 8.70 hectares for the future installation of the 1505th (MATINABANGON) CDC, 15RCDG, RESCOM, PA. Major General Felipe, Colonel Peji, and Mr. Agapito T Patubo, the OIC of DENR-PENRO Dinagat Islands, witnessed the pledge of commitment.
 
Major General Felipe commended the team 15RCDG led by Colonel Peji for their efforts and contributions to the advancement of Reserve Force Development objectives. Additionally, he exhorted the reservists to provide always the greatest service and to encourage their friends to enlist in the Philippine Army Reserve Force. “May we inspire others through our actions to anchor their lives to the great and noble ideal of serving our country to the best of our abilities,” he concluded.
