GEN ALEXANDER YANO (Ret), 38th Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines graced the Closing Ceremony of Pre-Deployment Training Class 02-2022 on 13 February 2023 at Headquarters, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, Camp Riego De Dios, Tanza, Cavite. The Pre-Deployment Training aims to enhance readiness, safety, and security awareness as well as knowledge of field conditions and fundamental peacekeeping policies and procedures of sixty-seven Called to Active-Duty Officers who are about to be deployed to different PA Major Units. Meanwhile, the former Chief of Staff Gen Yano in his speech emphasized the importance of competence (proficiency) and character (emotional quotient) traits in a military officer. "Through your personal example, to inculcate the culture of excellence and integrity, prudence and humility of your men, that way you'll be transforming your men to be better leaders themselves," Gen Yano said.
