October 7, 2023 - The Search for Miss ROTC NCR 2023 was held which commenced the NCR Leg of the Philippine ROTC Games 2023 (PRG 2023) at the GSIS Theater, Pasay City.
This remarkable event demonstrated patriotism and cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through the National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group (NCRRCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RESCOM, PA), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The event emphasized the significance of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) in instilling values, discipline, and a sense of duty among young individuals, and acknowledged the exceptional female ROTC cadets from various colleges and universities in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The title was awarded to Miss Sophia Bianca A. Matas, representing the Quezon City University ROTC Unit, under the administration of the NCRRCDG, RESCOM, PA.
Senator Francis N. Tolentino, the proponent of the PRG2023, graced the event as the guest of honor accompanied by PSC and CHED Officials and General Officers from the AFP.
The Senator commended the ROTC Cadets from various Branches of Service of the AFP for their outstanding display of patriotism, support, and appreciation for the activity and the ROTC program.
The preparation and the conduct of the LUZON and NCR Leg of the PRG2023 is a collaborative effort between the CHED and RESCOM, PA with the active participation and support from Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian human resources under the leadership of its Commander and at the same time the Co-Chairperson of the events MGen Romulo A Manuel Jr PA.
