1LT ALEXANDER T TUMAPANG (RES) PA is the designated Headquarters Service Company Commander of 1401st (Benguet) Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, 14RCDG, RESCOM, PA. He is currently employed as an Engineering Assistant at the Department of Education in Baguio City.
 
1LT TUMAPANG started his patriotic career as an excellent transformational leader by being an active member and organizer of Cultural Groups not only in his local community but also in other provinces of Cordillera. Truly, this talented man showed his love for the country by sharing his passion and knowledge of Cultural Arts with the youth. During his college days, he was involved in numerous school and community cultural engagements which led him to perform major and extraordinary responsibilities. Later, he was named as the “Kalinga Master of Bamboo Instrument”. In fact, he was the musical director of “The Kalinga Soul Through the Music of Alexander Madullawan” that featured by TIU Theater in 2014.
 
Likewise, he is a product of ROTC and a graduate of MS 43, known today as Probationary Officer Training Course (POTC), in the summer of 1994 at Camp Aquino, Tarlac City. Eventually, in 2014, 1LT TUMAPANG was commissioned in the Reserve Force as a Second Lieutenant (2LT) by virtue of Circular 4, GO Nr. 1018 GHQ, AFP dated 03 October 2016 and as a graduate of Bachelor of Civil Engineering. In 2018, his initial rank was adjusted to First Lieutenant (1LT).
 
Inspired by the mission and vision of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, he continuously performs his duties and responsibilities without expecting something in return. “Extend a helping hand to the ones who are in need without expecting in return; what matters most is the happiness and care for them”, he said.
 
1LT TUMAPANG has been serving the country for 27 years. In his decades of service, he led his troops to respond to their call of duty during disasters and calamities. One of his most memorable experiences as a first responder was trekking across a dangerous landslide in Bakakeng during Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng. Also, his skill in design is instrumental in the 1401st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion Logo creation.
In 2019, he was Called to Active Duty Tour of Training (CADTT). He took the position of S1/Adjutant and Headquarters Commandant at 14RCDG, Reserve Command Philippine Army from 2020 until 2021. With his profession as Engineer, 1LT TUMAPANG is instrumental for the relocation of Headquarters, 14th Regional Community Defense Group from Athletic Bowl, Baguio City to Barangay Loakan-Liwanag, Baguio City. Likewise, he was responsible for project management which includes planning, designing, and construction development of the new Headquarters location and Admin building.
 
For his laudable commitment and dedication to duty, he received numerous accolades and commendations such as, Parangal sa Kapanalig ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas and Military Commendation Medal, to name a few.
 
If not for his strong personality and firm principle, he might be one to fall prey to the recruitment of the leftist groups during his college days. He remained committed to his principles and he stood resistant to the deceit of the said groups. Moreover, he has the attitude of being humble and resilient.
 
1LT TUMAPANG is truly a public servant who can wholeheartedly offer his free services to the community to protect and promote responsible citizenship. Likewise, he is really an epitome of a Filipino public servant who is willing to serve and protect his fellow in times of crisis.
