2LT SHERYL H CABLINAN FINANCE SERVICE PA (RESERVE) is one of the female Reservist Officers of 203rd (NVZ) Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, 203rd CDC, 2RCDG. She finished her degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial Management in 2016 and earned her 18 units of Professional Education subjects leading to a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies in 2019.

 

Her military career began as an Advance ROTC Cadet at Nueva Vizcaya State University ROTC Unit in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. Throughout her studies, she was a beneficiary of the Philippine Army Advance ROTC Scholarship Program. Being an Advance ROTC Cadet is a two-way process for her, as she must strive in all curricular courses and meet all requirements while carrying out her duties and responsibilities as an Advance ROTC Cadet. Following the completion of her MS-42 course, she completed Pre-Deployment Training and served as a Graduate Military Assistant in her unit for the Academic Year 2015-2016.

 

On 11 August 2017, she was commissioned through Circular Nr 4 GHQ, AFP under Group 1 and was designated as Platoon Leader of Headquarters and Headquarters Service Company of 203rd (NVZ) RRIBn, 1602Bde. She is also a graduate of Probationary Officer Training Course (POTC) Class 46-2016 at Army Reserve Command Training School, where she received her training that helped set the foundation for her career.

 

She underwent different trainings provided by the Army Reserve Command Training School, including Warfighting Competency Training, Environmental Protection Training (EPT), and Disaster Relief and Rescue Operation Training (DRROT). Thereafter, she completed the 203rd (NVZ) RRIBn's Unit Active Duty Training (UADT). She also attended the Reserve Affairs Administration Training (RAAT), Gender and Development Training, and ROTC Staff Procedure Training, all of which were provided by the 2nd Regional Community Defense Group (2RCDG) in order to acquaint herself while expanding her knowledge and abilities, as well as to enhance her performance.

 

During the 2nd Training Cycle CY 2018, she completed the Combat Service Support School's (CSSS) Finance Service Officer Basic Course (FSOBC) Class 21-2018. She also successfully completed the Fund Accountable Officer (FAO) Seminar/Workshop provided by Finance Center, PA on July 13, 2018.

 

Despite the COVID-19 Pandemic, she continuously serves as the Tactical Officer of Nueva Vizcaya State University – Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya ROTC Unit, sharing her skills and shaping the ROTC Cadets to become future leaders of the AFP and to prevent CPP-NPA recruitment. Concurrently, she was appointed as Battalion S1 and Executive Officer of the 203rd (NVZ) RRIBn's H&HQs Coy. In performing these functions, she makes every effort to balance both ends in all areas relevant to her designations. The performance of her tasks and activities as Battalion S1 is one of her contributions to the Reserve Force and the Philippine Army in working towards achieving the ultimate aim of being a world-class Army by 2028. She might not be a perfect leader/officer, she is motivated to do her best to help develop a stronger and more capable Army Reservist.
