NPA leader yields to Army's 94IB

A squad leader of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) operating in Central Negros Front 2 in Ayungon, Negros Oriental yielded to the Philippine Army's 94th Infantry Battalion (94IB) of the 3rd Infantry Division on January 19, 2022.
The NPA personality, identified as Samson Ones Tillo also known as Dener, surrendered along with a Cal .45 pistol with magazine and ammunition. Before he surrendered, Dener is a member of CTG for almost a decade. Among his engagement, he conducted propaganda and deceitful recruitment in the hinterlands of Binalbagan, Himamaylan, and Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental. Also, he is involved in ten (10) armed conflicts against the government forces.
The 94IB Commander Lt. Col. Angelo Guzman expressed his optimism that other NPA members will follow the steps of Dener and pursue the path to lasting peace and development. Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Commanding General, Philippine Army, expressed his appreciation to the unit that they were able to convince one of the CTG leaders to return to the folds of the law and prefer to live with his family peacefully.#
