Army showcases mobile surgical care unit, latest medical assets

The Philippine Army held a museum open house and “heritage walk” on the newly refurbished "History of the Philippine Army Mural" to showcase the rich history of the oldest and the largest Armed Forces of the Philippines service branch at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on March 21, 2022.

The heritage walk is part of the series of month-long activities to mark the 125th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army.

The “History of the Philippine Army Mural”— a 2-meter by 175-meter concrete relief— is a dedication to the sacrifices of the Filipino soldiers. The artwork, commissioned during the term of former Army Chief Maj. Gen. Rafael Zagala, was made by Angono artist Nemesio "Nemiranda" Miranda, Jr., to commemorate the Philippine Army and the Filipino ancestors’ fight for independence from the 1500s to 1975.

“We have to be proud of our heritage,” Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., said as he recapped the highlights of the Army’s rich history. “We will enhance this further by putting in descriptive metal brass plates,” the Army Chief remarked.
