CSPA shares advice to newly minted Army officers

The Chief of Staff, Philippine Army (CSPA) Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong shared leadership advice to 210 new 2nd Lieutenants on April 18, 2022 at the Philippine Army Officers’ Clubhouse, Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Majority of the 210 2LTs are part of Officer Candidate Course (OCC) “Nagsaniblahi” Class 55-2021. The newly minted Army officers come from various provinces all over the country. They have diverse academic and professional backgrounds ranging from education, criminology, accountancy, education and psychology. Some are cum laude and magna cum laude graduates while others are board passers and civil service professionals.
“From now on, you will have to continue your current journey and face the magnitude of the trials as you assume your new posts as platoon leaders. Hence, we expect you to maintain your resolve and apply your acquired skills and knowledge from your pre-deployment trainings and courses to pursue the campaigns and programs implemented by the command,” the CSPA told the newly minted officers.
The CSPA has also reiterated to the new officers of the Army Commanding Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.’s guidance encapsulated in the acronym SERVE or “Soldier’s” welfare; “Enhancement” of the individual soldier’s skills and unit capabilities; “Resources” provided to units; “Victory” over the enemy as tasked by the president; and “Election” support in 2022.
Maj. Gen. Capulong likewise reminded them to adhere to the military's non-partisan stand during the campaign and election period. “You should all avoid participating in political discussions and sharing political agendas on your social media accounts,” the CSPA remarked.
